Post-Acute Rehabilitation Program

health care

Lethbridge, Alberta

FWBA Architects completed this project for the Chinook Health Region (now Alberta Health Services) involving the Post-Acute Rehabilitation Program (PARP) moving from the Lethbridge Regional Hospital to St. Michael’s Health Centre. The PARP at the hospital had outgrown current space, and overall high space utilization prevented the program from expanding. It was critical to ensure that patients at both facilities were minimally impacted by the relocation. St. Michael’s Health Centre was fully-operational during construction, and adjacent spaces experienced minimal impact of construction noise, odours, and dust on day-to-day operations. Large specialized equipment was relocated to the St. Michael’s Health Centre and accommodated around an existing building structure. The project was staged to ensure ease of construction and facilitate occupancy by patients as quickly as possible.
