Claresholm K-6 School Modernization

Claresholm, Alberta

The project was part of an educational facilities reconfiguration in Claresholm. As the first step in this process, the existing Junior High School was modernized and converted to a K-6 School. The redesign centered on the creation of a vibrant “town-square” core which serves as a flexible central gathering space adjacent to the library, music, and drama rooms, and overlooked by the administration suite. This space allows the students, teachers, and parents to come together informally as a school community on a regular basis. The interior was modernized with an energetic colour scheme and dramatic sculptural forms in the common areas.
