Ecole St. Mary Elementary School Modernization

The K-6 Ecole St. Mary Elementary School was modernized to increase utilization and create a new spacious heart by enclosing a dark and neglected exterior courtyard. This new area of the school has been transformed into a bright open space with lots of natural light into the library and gathering area. Flexible arrangements of space are created through the ingenious use of large glass garage doors, a low curving wall, and a variety of other doors types. Energetic primary colours and shapes, both on the exterior and interior, provide a unifying theme and dynamic palette.
