The Lethbridge Police Headquarters is an accessible civic building with three distinct zones of security:

• Reception/Community Meeting areas and community based programs
• Semi-secure internal offices, Administration, Support Services, and Police parking
• High security sally port, cells, holding areas, and evidence suite

The design responds to the philosophy that the headquarters not be a fortress, but rather focused on community for law enforcement and public assistance. An Emergency Response Suite was incorporated adjacent to the Communications Area. After 13 years of occupancy, FWBA Architects together RPL Architects was engaged to complete a master planning expansion program & schematic design for the Lethbridge Police Service. The original ideas designed to expand were utilized in this continuing service by the same team.
