Medicine Hat College (MHC) is one of Alberta’s eleven Comprehensive Community Institutions offering certificates and diplomas, adult high school completion, apprenticeship training, applied degrees, and collaborative undergraduate programming. MHC is located on two campuses with its main campus in Medicine Hat and a branch campus located in Brooks, Alberta.

The Health, Wellness and Athletics Expansion (HWAE) Phase 1 will serve several programs at Medicine Hat College, including, Child and Youth Care, Early Childhood Education, Exercise Sciences, Health Sciences, Gerontology, Massage, Emergency Health Services, as well as Student Sports Scholarships along with competitive sports clubs and teams. The new expansion will enhance the ability to offer a cutting-edge post-secondary education, as well as facilitating collaboration, innovation, and integration of programs offered at Medicine Hat College with industry partners. The focus of this project is not only on health and sports but includes flexible learning spaces that are adaptable to emerging regional needs. The facility will serve to support the students, employees and community in taking steps to improve and maintain individual and community health while incorporating entrepreneurial activity that will contribute to operational sustainability.
